What made you decide to try Platform Strength Training?
I had heard about it from multiple friends and was hesitant at first, but they kept talking about how awesome it was. I finally decided to try something different and ended up loving it from Day 1!
What is your favorite part about Empowered Living Company?
The people. Hands down. Getting a nice, tough workout is great – But there’s no way I would do it on my own so the extra motivation is key. Plus, it makes it a lot more fun when you have such a great group to work with!
What’s your favorite movement, lift or workout?
I love the EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute) workouts. They’re the perfect combination of lifting hard and getting a little bit of cardio. And they’re the one type of workout that I automatically approach with “How much can I do?” vs. “How much can I handle?”.
What’s one milestone you’re most proud of so far?
I don’t think I have a specific milestone. But when I look back at my first week of riding the struggle bus pretty hard and having the “take it easy to complete it” mindset the next couple weeks, I’m pretty proud of being at a point where I continuously have a “just crush it” mindset.
What are some unexpected benefits you’ve experienced since starting?
I’m happier. I think it’s a combination of making a decision to do something purely for myself, the constant successes (even if they’re small), and of course the endorphins 🙂
What is your next goal you plan to crush?
It might take a while, but pull-ups. I’ve never been able to do them. But I’m slowly making progress and might just get there one day haha.
What advice would you give someone walking through the Empowered Living Company door for the first time?
Never doubt yourself and always keep YOUR goals in mind. As hard as something may be or seem, you’ll get there; and you’ll surprise yourself when you least expect it. If you’ve walked through the door, you’ve already accomplished something great and more greatness will follow.
