Mary has been crushing workouts with us since day 3 that we have been open, Mary has been killin goals, cheering on her team of peeps and consistently been giving it her all! We are so lucky to have somebody like Mary to be a part of our space and our ELC family would not be the same without her!
Here is what Mary has to say about her experience so far here at ELC:)
What made you decide to try Platform Strength Training?
I was in an exercise “rut”- I couldn’t run as much as I used to, I wasn’t finding fitness classes that fit my schedule and when I worked out on my own it was pretty pathetic. Along came ELC- I had heard about the gym and was curious about what it had to offer and I fell in LOVE with the people and the classes.
What made you decide to try the Yoga Garage?
I had done yoga in the past and enjoyed it and the benefits. I knew I needed to get into the Yoga Garage and summer has been the perfect time for me to try the yoga classes.
What is your favorite part about Empowered Living Company?
The atmosphere- even if it’s a class it seems like we are a team pulling for each other to do their best- whatever their best is. I love the encouraging words the coaches and other participants have throughout the workouts. That is what motivates me to keep going plus I love the high five’s at the end of the workout!!
What’s your favorite movement, lift or workout?
Movement- Wall Balls; Lift- Bench or Deadlift; Workout- any 21-15-9 (besides Burpees 😉 )
What is your favorite yoga pose/posture?
Resting Pigeon
What’s one milestone you’re most proud of so far?
Doing a double under!!! And being able to have full range of motion in my squat.
What are some unexpected benefits you’ve experienced since starting?
Getting my range of motion back in my hips, knees and ankles – thanks to Kaylene and the Platform Mobility classes. Plus sleeping like a rock!
What is your next goal you plan to crush?
More Double Unders, T2B and a Pull up!
What advice would you give someone walking through the Empowered Living Company door for the first time?
There is something for everyone and you can do it- if there isn’t a movement you can do in Platform Strength, Conditioning or Yoga the coaches will give you alternatives and work with you on your form and technique. Most importantly we were all in your shoes and remember our first time at ELC- there’s no judging only encouraging.
